OPD cable

Application

OPD optical fiber cable is designed for suspension between buildings,on supports (towers) of communication lines, for cabining through tunnels, underground, inside buildings, to be used as temporarycable insert in case of increased requirements for resistance to external electromagnetic influences.

Cable design

  1. Optical fibers of different colors.
  2. Polymer tube filled by hydrophobic compound.
  3. Attached dielectric strength member – GRP rod.
  4. Outer PE sheath.

Cable size and weight parameters in dependence of fiber count and tensile load are listed in the table.

Cable type/ Tensile load Fiber count, up to Estimated cable weight, kg/km Cable size, mm
sheath diameter by attached strength member / optical core maximum cable diameter
OPD/1,5 kN 16 42 4,4 / 4,4 8,9
OPD/1,5 kN 24 50 4,4 / 4,8 9,3
OPD/3,0 kN 24 56 5,2 / 4,2 10,1
OPD/3,0 kN 48 66 5,2 / 5,9 11,2
